MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR
With only 1 month left before the deadline is here, and we begin our final preparation for Boys State 2026, I wanted to thank the Legion family, school personnel, family and friends for all the hard work each of you have given to this program this year. It has paid off.
I've watched my computer and saw the number of boys wanting to go to Boys State has risen several times in the month. I've talked to many of you and I know y'all have given 110% so our program is a success again this year.
This year has seemed different from the start because folks were not only taking care of their schools and community but also helping each other in their posts and districts across the state.
Many people feel that more young men will come pre-pared to go to Boys State before the deadline gets here. I just talked to Vickie Dykes from Post 333 in Columbus. They are had their Orientation tonight and 4 extra young men came wanting to go to Boys State. She also shared with me that their money was topped out.
I told her as I've told many already: see if anybody in your district can help to include the district. If their answer is no; then send me any paperwork they may have or send me their name, address, phone number, or email. We'll take care of it!
We are so close to having a good year with numbers being the highest since before Covid. Talk to each other in your post and districts first. If you get no help, call me, pack up the boy(s) paperwork and identification and send it to me. 266 Albany Annex Rd, Americus, Ga. 31719 229-938-9352
